Dear Parent/Guardian, RE: SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD’S READING JOURNEY (P1 – P3) At Dream Africa Schools, we believe that "Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader." This year, your child is participating in a 30-week Reading Programme aligned with the National Curriculum. We invite you to be our partner in this journey. You do not need to be an expert teacher to help; you just need 10 minutes a day. How You Can Help at Home: The 10-Minute Rule: Set aside 10 minutes every evening. Let your child read their weekly passage or a storybook to you. Ask "The Big Three" Questions: After they read, ask: Who was in the story? Where did the story happen? What happened at the end? Point and Read: Encourage your child to use their finger to follow the words. This helps their eyes stay on the right track. Praise Effort: If they struggle with a word, help them sound it out.
