C- Round 2

· Teams that go through (6 teams) will compete in reading level 2 texts/picture books – reading with expressions matching the texts being read.

· A team leader will come forward and pick a title of the text to be read (randomly) and the order to be followed.

· Timing, fluency and voice projection.

· At this stage – judges might ask questions about the texts that have been read to check whether learners understand the texts being read in depth.

· The best teams: 1st (Gold), 2nd (Silver) & 3rd (Bronze) – to be awarded in that order.

Note:

· Gestures & expressions related to the texts being read will make this reading fun and enjoyable. Marks to be awarded for the same.

· As the theme states “Reading beyond our world”, let children practice for surprise texts.

· “Team reading” is allowed – where one child reads as others make the expressions or answers in case there’s a question in the text being read i.e

Look at these two animals. Are they different from each other?

Yes, they are different from each other, but because they both have feathers, they are both birds! – the above is an extract from one the texts to be read – so one child can ask as the other responds to break monotony and exhibit team work & cooperation.
