Summarized action points for Heads of School (21st May – 31st May, 2025)

Day 1 – Day 3 (21st – 23rd May)

·       Calling all staff to understand whether they’ll be reporting on 26th May ready for duty.

·       Support staff – cook(s), cleaner(s), nurse(s), driver(s) – call them as well do give us feedback if any isn’t coming back.

·       Reporting all confirmed vacancies to HR department in time.

·       Sending in applicants/applications received to HO.

·       P7 class: reporting of P7 students at DAS Mbalwa and emphasis on fees payment.

·       Operation needs – slashing, fumigating, repairs etc – all that is needed must be reported between now and end of Friday such that we address them quickly.

Day 4 (Saturday 24th May)

·       Ask the cleaner(s) to report earlier to ensure the school is ready to welcome children on Monday.

·       Reaching out to some individuals or communities with children to try and convince them to enroll with us.

·       Check with existing parents as they’re our marketing agents in the community. 

·       Checking with parents on date of return, whether holiday package is and asking them to seek help if needed and updating on other school programs for next term like study tours, debates , quizzes etc.

·       Re-emphasizing the school fees policy and helping the School Secretary whenever required to do so.

Day 5 (Sunday25th May)

·       Checking sanitation – dormitories, classes, toilets, offices & kitchen must be mopped.(Sunday evening)

·       Being at school to clear boarding students who might choose to report over the weekend.

Day 6 – Day 11 (26th – 31st May)

·       ALL staff must be present on the day of opening – HM, Secretary, Teachers & Support staff.

·       Conduct a 30 mins standing meeting to issue instructions and responsibilities to each individual – must be done at the start of the day and closure until the first week of reporting is done.

·       Only children who have been cleared by Finance be welcomed back in school

·       Each child must return with complete holiday package.

·       All children be escorted by their parents for clearance – school fees (50% and above), school requirements etc.

·       Marking and revision of holiday packages starts immediately.
